Finished game

This is my finished design, I wanted the scene to look like it was getting late, so I changed the settings of the main directional light to be dark blue.

I personally like the look of it, the camp really fits in the empty space.
The texture on the statue didn't appear for some reason however I don't mind because I'm not to proud of the texturing.

Adding texture

Back here UV mapping again.

This was the stone texture I decided for him to have.

I cut opened both sides of his arms and then stitched one side back up. I then used the unfold tool.
I did this for everything. Body, legs, hands, feet and neck.

I took the UV mapping to Photoshop.

Added the texture

I edited the UV mapping to sort out the texture on the model but I think  might have choose a bad picture for the model, either that on my cut outs are really uneven.

This is the finished model, not to proud of it to be honest , the texture ruins it for me so I clearly need to improve on that but I still like the design of the model.

Fire

We had to add in some fire to our arena which was great for me because I had already added in a camp fire in my final texture arena.

I added particles and then messed with settings).

Then I made a material and added a image of a flame I found online to it.

(At first it looked like someone burnt there meal haha xD)

(but I know magic so I fixed it) P.S i don't really know magic please don't burnt me, I'm not a witch.

I added a point light and changed the colour and range and intensity of it.

I then added shadows.

This was the image I used for the flames.

Broken off neck

So I was building my character and I thought the design looked boring, I was think what can I do in the sort time I have left. long story short I chopped off his head lool. To be honest it fits the scene, in the arena he's in the place looks run down and abandoned and having a broken statue in there could bring some character to the scene.

I duplicated the object and smoothed it because I wanted to know which one would suite the arena move and to me surprise the un-smoothed model looked best for the part.

3D character

This was my very long process of making a statue for my game, it was my first time so it took me a longer time than most things do.

Here I disconnected the arms, brought out the shoulders and attached them back together. (This was to make sure I only had quad on my model).

I had to add a EdgeLoop here

This is the progress and smooth version next to each other.

Next was hands... Had no idea how hard this was LOL

Cut out this part for the thumb.

Had to use the bridge here to get the thumb back on to the hand.

this is the finished hand, yeah! Now the fun part attaching it. :S

Ok, it wasn't that hard lol

Making the foot.

this is the attached and finished foot.

Mushroom

We had to texture a mushroom because I had already learnt to us the UV Editor it was fine for me.
I decided that i wanted to be different and use a texture of bark (I was going to paint over it anyway xD)

This is the UV map I took into photoshop

This is the finished product, I like it... a lot lol
Looks like alien mush room or magic mushroom.
